Panels, Presentations, and Speaking Engagements

Yaara Zisman-Ilani presented "Two Decades of Shared Decision Making in Mental Health: Achievements, Challenges, and Path Forward,” a webinar on SMI Adviser, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and administered by the American Psychiatric Association (APA). 

Graciela Jaschek presented "Public Health Practice in the US: Public Health Beyond Borders" at the 25th Joint State Conference of Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine Maharashtra Chapter and Indian Public Health Association, held at MGM Dental College and Hospital in Mumbai, India. Jaschek also delivered a lecture, "Why Active Learning," at MGM Dental College and Hospital. 

Inkyu Han spoke on “Heavy Metal Soil Risks in Houston's Residential Neighborhoods Impacted by Hurricane Harvey” at Baylor University. Han also presented “Community Based Participatory Research in Exposure Science” at the III International Scientific Congress 2023 in Cusco, Peru. 

Sarah Weinstein organized the invited session “Analysis of spatial patterns in neuroimaging” at CMStatistics 2023 in Berlin, Germany.

Appointments and Accolades

Laura A. Siminoff was appointed to the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Principles and Framework to Guide the Development of Protocols and Standard Operating Procedures for Face and Hand Transplants Committee. 

Other activities

Yaara Zisman-Ilani served as a reviewer for the NIH/NIMH Mental Health Services Research Committee (SERV). 

Jingwei Wu completed the SAS Global Certification Proctor Training and became SAS Certification Exam Proctor.
