Affiliated with the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion, the Laboratory on Geography, Mobility and Disability focuses on:

  1. The use of innovative technologies to measure community mobility, community participation and physical activity; and
  2. Examining how various indicators of the social, built and natural environment are associated with various health outcomes.

The lab is closely affiliated with the Temple University Collaborative on Community Inclusion and continues to be a resource to disability researchers at the College of Public Health and other faculty at Temple University and elsewhere interested in using tools such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and accelerometry in their studies. Specifically, the lab has the tools for managing, cleaning and analyzing GPS and accelerometry data and for enriching primary data with various indicators of the social, built and natural environment obtained from secondary sources.
