Dr. Zisman-Ilani’s research in the Shared Decision Making Lab focuses on Shared Decision Making (SDM) and related patient–clinician communication processes. Her research includes conceptualization and understanding of SDM mechanisms and related health communication processes and the development of SDM interventions, decision aids, decision-support tools, and measures. Dr. Zisman-Ilani conducts research for a variety of mental health conditions and in various settings. A special focus is given to individuals from ethnic/racial minority populations with health disparities.
