Class of 1963 Nursing Endowed Award Fund in Honor of Florence Brown
Established in 2008 by Eva Whitsel Pierce, CHP ’63, to provide awards for students enrolled in the BSN Accelerated Nursing program who have financial need, have demonstrated a personal determination and dedication to the profession, and have been actively involved in volunteer activities.
Mary Baltz Rehfuss Nursing Award Fund
Established through a bequest to provide an award in memory of Mary Baltz Rehfuss, CHPSW ’10, to a senior student in nursing who shows the highest achievement in nursing practice.
Nan Angevine Apfelbaum Scholarship in Nursing
Established in 2012 through a bequest from Nan Angevine Apfelbaum, CHP ’60, to provide scholarships for students majoring in nursing who have financial need, with first preference for students who are graduates of a high school in the Philadelphia School District, and second preference to students who are graduates of a high school in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Nurses Alumni Association of Temple University Scholarship Fund
Established in 2003 by the Nurses Alumni Association of Temple University to provide scholarships for registered nurses enrolled in the Registered Nurse Bachelor of Science Nursing program who demonstrate academic achievement and a commitment to a career in nursing.
Temma M. Herman and Lisa Herman Peskoe Memorial Fund
Established in 1996 by the family and friends of Lisa Herman Peskoe and Temma M. Herman to provide scholarships for incoming students enrolled in the Department of Nursing who demonstrate financial need and exhibit scholastic achievement.
Carpenter Foundation Nursing Scholarship
The fund may be awarded to graduate student(s) in the College of Public Health's Department of Nursing with demonstrated academic merit and financial need.
Helen M. Ettinger Scholarship Fund
Established in 2010. The fund may be awarded to student(s) in the College of Public Health's Department of Nursing with demonstrated academic merit and financial need.
G. Morton Illman Trust Nursing Scholarship
Established in 2016, for the Nurses Alumni Association, to provide financial assistance to nurses or graduates of Temple University's College of Public Health's Department of Nursing.
Independence Foundation Scholarships
Funds may be awarded to student(s) in the College of Public Health's Department of Nursing who have demonstrated academic achievement with a preference given to students with financial need.
TU Woman's Club Scholarship Fund
Established in 1980 by the Temple University Women’s Club to provide scholarships to Temple University School of Dental Hygiene students who have demonstrated academic achievement and financial need. The fund has provided scholarships for nursing students since the School of Dental Hygiene was eliminated in 1988.
External Nursing Scholarships
Pennsylvania State Nurses Association
The Nursing Foundation of Pennsylvania, the foundation of the PA State Nurses Association, offers the Pauline Thompson Educational Scholarship which provides $1000 for students in RN-BSN programs. Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania
Nightingale Awards of Pennsylvania grants scholarships annually to Pennsylvania residents who are studying nursing at the basic or advanced level and intend to practice in the state. Regardless of the type of nursing program, all candidates accepted into or presently enrolled in accredited nursing programs in Pennsylvania may apply.
