The Lab of Integrative Health Solutions integrates health service research, health informatics, and health policy and management for translational research in public health. The lab focuses on building evidence-based solutions in health service research, health policy, clinical decision support systems and health informatics, using health informatics, integrative data analysis, predictive modeling, machine learning and other advanced technologies. The lab’s emphasized areas include but are not limited to:

  • Managing and integrating heterogeneous data from multiple sources, including medical records, health activities, health policies and regulations, biological features, social media posts and other lifestyle information
  • Creating informatics solutions and decision support systems to improve patient-centered decision-making and health services on health policy, interventions and implementations
  • Applying natural language processing (NLP) and artificial intelligence (AI) technology for text analytics on free (unstructured) text in documents and social media posts
  • Performing simulation modeling, conducting predictive analysis, developing health applications and creating visualization dashboards in different aspects of healthcare, research, policy and management.
