In this presentation, Kayoko Shioda, assistant professor in the Department of Global Health at Boston University School of Public Health, will share her past and ongoing research projects, illustrating how her contributions have aided countries and communities in making informed decisions regarding disease control.

Topics covered will include Dr. Shioda's recent work on COVID-19 vaccine evaluation in the U.S. and One Health transmission modeling for Campylobacter and Salmonella in Mozambique. Dr. Shioda will also articulate her vision on how collaboration with academic institutions, public health agencies, healthcare providers, and local communities can establish novel analytic tools and data streams to address urgent health needs.

Dr. Shioda is an infectious disease epidemiologist and veterinarian whose work centers on two main areas: vaccine epidemiology and One Health with a focus on climate change.
