Social isolation and loneliness have been demonstrated to create significant threats to health, function, and well-being. Although there is some debate as to whether we are experiencing an epidemic of loneliness or isolation, it is clear that these phenomena are found in certain segments of the population at higher rates. This presentation will explore the challenges of social isolation and loneliness among adults with serious mental illness. The presentation will also focus on how the psychological construct of mattering is related to the experience of loneliness and how it might be employed to reduce feelings of loneliness.

You can attend this event in person in Tuttleman Room 101 or virtually via Zoom.

Registration is required for both attendance options: https://chpswtemple.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_7QYt1jxZH2IKWc6
