1:00 PM - 2:30 PM

William Pilkington, a public health officer for almost four decades, will present a case-based example examining leadership during a pandemic from the perspective of a local public health director. This session provides an excellent opportunity to allow students to use critical thinking skills to analyze decisions made in periods of dynamic uncertainty. Although the case is presented through the lens of the local public health director in one county, there are multiple stakeholders including government, business, and society in general. Attendance at this session will serve as an introduction to a collegewide competition in which students will have an opportunity to work in teams to identify recommendations based on the case details presented to win prizes.
