The Vaux Community Health Center partners with residents of the Sharswood/Blumberg neighborhood to provide health education and quality specialty care that supports personal health, family health, and the health of the community.

Physical therapy services

We welcome community members to participate in a series of movement sessions with student physical therapists from Temple University's College of Public Health.  These sessions offer a combination of exercise classes and mini-education workshops.

Anyone who has chronic joint pain, struggles with falling, or has difficulty moving around can book an appointment for an evaluation and individualized sessions.

Prevent Type 2 diabetes program

Prediabetes is common in the U.S.—more than 96 million people have it, though 80% are undiagnosed. Leaving prediabetes unchecked can have harmful effects, but it can be reversed.

Join the CDC-recognized National Diabetes Prevention Program to learn how to make lasting lifestyle changes to prevent or delay the onset of Type 2 diabetes. In the program, participants will:

  • Work with a trained lifestyle coach to take small, manageable steps to fit their schedules and lifestyles.
  • Learn how to eat healthy and add more physical activity into their day.
  • Learn how to manage stress, stay motivated and solve problems that can slow their progress.
