On Friday, April 7, the College of Public Health hosted about 70 students from four Philadelphia School District schools for a public health career information day in celebration of National Public Health Week.

Students had opportunities to engage in hands-on activities and learn about the skills used by practitioners of public health, athletic training, nursing, and therapeutic recreation. Students also met with faculty from the Center for Obesity Research and Education and from the Physical Therapy, Health Information Management, and SpeechLanguage-Hearing programs.

Among the day's presenters, Michelle Scarpulla, an instructor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences, spoke with students about public health issues. Anne Russ, assistant professor of instruction in the Kinesiology Department, talked with students and led them in athletic training activities.
