The College of Public Health is preparing the next generation of researchers, practitioners and clinicians to solve health’s complexities for a better tomorrow. Our thriving and diverse community is guided by a commitment to social justice and the belief that health is a human right.

Backed by the generosity of several donors, Temple’s College of Public Health is announcing a $200,000 matching gift challenge. Inspired by the college’s extraordinary commitment to education, research and community impact, this challenge provides a limited-time opportunity for Temple alumni, parents and friends to change lives today and in the future through public health.

When you make a gift of $10,000 or more to support scholarships for College of Public Health students, we will direct a matching gift of 10% of your gift’s value (up to $10,000) to either the College of Public Health General Scholarship Fund or a newly established named fund for general unrestricted scholarship support. Gifts may be made with an outright contribution or pledged over a period of several years. Matching dollars may not be directed to the principal balance of a named endowed fund but may be allocated to a corresponding spend account for current use.

Over the last year, College of Public Health students, faculty and staff have personified Temple’s motto of “Perseverance Conquers.” We could not be prouder of the resilience and commitment shown as we transitioned to online learning this past semester in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We are also grateful to our friends and alumni, many of whom have reached out to us during these uncertain times wanting to know how they can help. We understand that right now, balancing family and philanthropy can be difficult; that’s why we are excited to announce this opportunity to make a difference.

Scholarships and graduate fellowships relieve students of having to obtain employment while pursuing a rigorous degree program and lessen their financial strain following graduation, making a career in health more accessible. Supporting the college’s students through scholarships and graduate fellowships offers a long-term return on investment as these dedicated individuals enjoy impactful careers in public health, clinical healthcare professions and social justice.

Act soon to become a partner in fueling the careers of some of the most important professionals in our communities and our world. Matching funds are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis, so be sure to notify us of your gift before they run out. You can make a difference by investing in a student who will go on to improve the lives of hundreds, if not thousands, of people for generations to come.
