Biography

Michael O’Hara, PT, DPT, OCS is an associate professor of instruction in the doctor of physical therapy program at Temple University. Michael earned his doctor of physical therapy degree from Temple University in 2014, and subsequently completed an orthopaedic residency at the University of Chicago Medical Center in 2015. He is recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) as a board-certified clinical specialist in orthopaedic physical therapy and is a member of the APTA Specialization Academy of Content Experts in Orthopaedics. Michael has presented platform, laboratory-based and poster presentations on various orthopaedic, anatomy-based, and manual therapy topics at local, regional and national levels. He is a co-author of a textbook currently in development, and a contributing author to a textbook chapter published in 2017. Additionally, he is the nominating committee chair for the Southeast District of the APTA, Pennsylvania.

Michael's current teaching responsibilities include involvement with the musculoskeletal management course series, human anatomy, functional biomechanics, modalities, and vestibular rehabilitation elective courses. He received the College of Public Health Excellence in Teaching Award in 2020. Michael also serves as an instructor in the Temple University orthopaedic physical therapy residency program and volunteers his time as a clinical mentor at the North Broad Physical Therapy Center. In addition to academic work, Michael maintains per-diem clinical practice at Good Shepherd Penn Partners—Penn Therapy and Fitness at University City in Philadelphia, PA.
