Biography

Lorri Collins is a third-career RN with 11 years’ experience in maternal-child nursing, specializing in pediatrics. She obtained her RN diploma from Temple University Health System-Episcopal, her bachelor of science in laboratory science with concentration in cytogenetics from Thomas Jefferson University and her master of science in nursing education degree from Drexel University. Additionally, she is a certified pediatric nurse and holds certificates in simulation and teaching in higher education.

One of her greatest accomplishment includes the development, implementation, marketing and management of St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children’s Regional Fetal Evaluation Center (RFEC) serving high risk maternal and fetal patients across the tri-state area. She was frequently recognized for her passionate advocacy and support of her patients’ needs which was reflected in the rapid increase in referral patterns to the program.

For the past three years, Lorri has utilized her skills in process improvement and program development in her role as the clinical operations manager in Temple University’s undergraduate and graduate nursing programs. She developed processes and streamlined clinical placements, contract compliance and evaluation management for more than 500 students, clinical faculty and preceptors in addition to over 40 clinical sites.

Building on her previous experience as a clinical adjunct, Lorri recently transitioned from her role as clinical operations manager to a full time clinical instructor in Temple’s nursing department. She is motivated to position students for success by connecting with them to identify and meet their individual learner needs to apply didactic principles to the clinical and simulation setting.
