Biography

Dr. Linda Bomboka Wilson is an assistant professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences. In the classroom, Dr. Wilson aims to stimulate learning through critical thinking, practical application, and incorporating innovative approaches to the ever-evolving field of public health. As a trained scholar from the University of South Florida's Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence, Dr. Bomboka Wilson is passionate about mentoring future public health leaders and advocates for interdisciplinary and translational research, practice and policy. Her background is in global health, maternal and child health, and women's reproductive health. Her interests lie in addressing disparities in women's reproductive health among minority, migrant, and refugee groups. She received her PhD in public health at the University of South Florida with a concentration in community and family health. Her dissertation examined family planning beliefs of recently resettled Congolese refugee women living in West Central Florida.
