
LaVonne E. Couch
Biography
LaVonne Couch, PT, DPT, EdD is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences and serves as the Director of Clinical Education for the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Dr. Couch received her physical therapy education from Stockton University and the College of St. Scholastica. Prior to obtaining her post-professional doctorate in physical therapy in 2016, Dr. Couch earned a doctorate in educational innovation and leadership from Wilmington University. She is a licensed physical therapist in PA, NJ and Delaware and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Dr. Couch’s areas of clinical practice focus include geriatrics, cardiovascular and pulmonary disorders, and post-surgical patients treated in an in-patient and/or home settings. In academia, Dr. Couch has many years of experience with PT/PTA education in program administration and implementation, instruction, and student assessment. She is passionate about the mentorship of students, new clinicians, and clinicians new to the faculty role.
