Biography
Marcella V. Ridenour, PhD, is a professor emerita in the former Department of Kinesiology in the College of Public Health at Temple University. She was faculty at Temple University from 1974 until 2007, specializing in child motor development as a Laura H. Carnell professor of kinesiology. As a senior researcher in the Biokinetics Research Laboratory, she specialized in the motor skills of young children with applications to home safety including the use of toys, cribs, walkers and play yards. Dr. Ridenour published more than 25 research articles related to motor skill performance in peer-reviewed journals. She also served on several national committees preparing safety guidelines for children’s products. Dr. Ridenour enjoys sailing and playing pickleball and croquet.
