The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Temple University’s Barnett College of Public Health offers a comprehensive portfolio of academic programs that prepare students to address complex public health challenges through rigorous methodological training and applied research.

The Department administers five graduate programs: PhD in Epidemiology; MPH degrees in Epidemiology (in-person and online), Applied Biostatistics, and Environmental Health; and MS in Public Health Data Science.

We also administer a graduate certificate in Applied Clinical Research. The Department also contributes to the College’s nationally recognized BS in Public Health and administers a minor in Applied Epidemiology.

Across these programs, students develop strong skills in epidemiologic methods, study design, statistical analysis, and data interpretation, with opportunities for hands-on experience through fieldwork, research, and collaboration with community and governmental partners. Our programs emphasize the application of modern analytic tools and real-world problem solving, preparing graduates for careers in public health practice, research, and advanced doctoral training.
