Career Services

The College of Public Health offers numerous professional development opportunities designed to empower students with the tools and resources needed to excel in their careers.

Drop-in appointments

Our professional development staff is available for career services assistance on a drop-in basis. Students are encouraged to stop by the Dean's Office on the third floor of the Bell Building between 4 and 5 p.m. on Wednesdays; ask for Darvin Martin, assistant director of career and professional development.

Drop-in appointments are 15 minutes long—if a longer session is needed, students can schedule a Zoom appointment with Darvin on Handshake.

Professional Development Symposium

At the College of Public Health's annual Professional Development Symposium, students can connect with professionals across the healthcare spectrum. Hear from leaders in the fields of healthcare, public health, social work and more as they share their professional journeys; learn about the current landscape of health and social services careers; and discover emerging opportunities for public health professionals.

Coffee Talk events

Coffee Talk events occur once a month throughout the fall and spring semesters and provide students the opportunity to meet with experienced professionals and discuss some of the dynamic issues and developments occurring in public health careers.
