Wiens Lab (Infectious Diseases)

The Wiens Lab (infectious diseases) utilizes seroepidemiology, spatial analysis and disease modeling to better understand infectious disease burden. Current funded projects focus on two main areas:

  1. Understanding of the role of mild and asymptomatic infections in cholera transmission
  2. Estimating the number of cholera and diarrheal cases that remain unreported in passive surveillance systems due to barriers to healthcare seeking
