Temple’s College of Public Health is excited to announce that Ann E. Dolloff has been elected to the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC) Board of Directors! Her term will begin in June 2025 and run through April 2028, during which she’ll help shape the direction of certification standards and professional practice in the field of therapeutic recreation.
She joins a group of newly elected and appointed board members who will guide NCTRC’s mission of promoting excellence through nationally recognized certification and continuing competence.
A Leader in Therapeutic Recreation and Education
Dolloff brings more than three decades of experience to her new role, spanning community-based recreation, higher education, and adaptive sports. After 22 years leading recreational therapy programs for individuals with disabilities and their families in Connecticut, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, she returned to her alma mater, Temple University, in 2004.
She joined the Institute on Disabilities with Pennsylvania's Initiative on Assistive Technology (PIAT)—the state’s AT Act Program—as assistant director, while also teaching in Temple’s Recreational Therapy (RT) program. In 2012, she became a full-time faculty member, where she continues to inspire students and future professionals in the field.
A Lifelong Advocate for Adaptive Recreation
Beyond her academic and administrative work, Dolloff is a dedicated coach and instructor in adapted sports. She has taught and led programs across multiple disciplines and still spends winter weekends teaching adapted skiing with the PA Center for Adapted Sports at Camelback Mountain in the Pocono Mountains. Her hands-on experience and deep understanding of recreational therapy's impact in real-world settings will bring a valuable perspective to NCTRC’s Board.
Celebrating Her Impact
“Ann’s leadership and commitment to inclusion make her an incredible representative of Temple and the field of recreational therapy,” said Dean Jennifer Ibrahim. “We’re proud to see her expertise recognized on a national level.”
Temple’s College of Public Health is excited to see Ann step into this leadership role and looks forward to the impact she’ll have—congratulations!
