Shina is a doctoral student in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Washington in Speech and Hearing Sciences and her Master of Arts from Temple University in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences. Shina is a licensed speech-language pathologist and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
At Temple, Shina works with Dr. Edwin Maas in the Speech, Language, and Brain (SLAB) Lab where she focuses on childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) treatment. Shina is particularly interested in exploring the personal and interpersonal factors in CAS treatment using qualitative and mixed-methods approaches.
