Biography

Hilda Aluko DNP, CRNP, FNP-BC, MEDSURG-BC is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the Department of Nursing at Temple University Barnett College of Public Health. Dr. Aluko earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and Master of Science in Nursing degrees from Rutgers University. Dr. Aluko is an educator who has taught at Thomas Edison State University (TESU), and prior to teaching at TESU served as adjunct faculty at Rutgers School of Nursing.

Dr. Aluko is a nationally certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-BC) and Medical-Surgical Nurse (MEDSURG-BC). She has expertise in caring for patients from pediatric to geriatric population, within an integrated primary care model, with various levels of complexities and diverse health care needs. She has earned awards in recognition of her dedication to the care of dynamic patient populations within underserved urban communities, including the Rutgers Health Honoree Award and Lester Z. Lieberman Humanism in Healthcare Award. For her expertise in nursing leadership, service, mentorship and interprofessional education, Dr. Aluko received the Mary Anne Rooney Essence of Nursing Award and Sigma Region 14 Regional Recognition Award. Dr. Aluko’s passion for safety of nursing practice propelled her doctoral research where she explored nursing policies, guidelines and available nursing education within New Jersey nurses’ workplace related to care of patients using medical marijuana and was selected for several presentations including podium and poster.

Dr. Aluko’s service as nurse leader within nursing organizations and committees spans local, national, and international levels. She is a SIGMA International Nurse Leader Reviewer, Chair for SIGMA Region 14 2027 Research and Evidence Based Practice Conference Committee, Chair for SIGMA Region 14 Regional Excellence Awards Committee, Chair for the Alpha Tau Mentorship Program, Policy and Procedure Committee Member for New Jersey State Nurses Association (NJSNA), and Treasurer for NJSNA Region 4. She has also served in various notable roles including SIGMA Abstract reviewer, SIGMA Award Judge, Treasurer for Alpha Tau Chapter of SIGMA, Abstract reviewer for SIGMA Region 14 Research and Evidence Based Practice Conference, Co-Chair for SIGMA Region 14 2026 Research and Evidence Based Practice Conference Committee.
