Biography
Dr. Raspanti joined Temple University as an adjunct professor in the fall of 2019. He earned his BS at West Chester University and was a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova (eastern Europe), where he was a health educator and worked in a preventative medical clinic, which sparked his interest in environmental health. Upon his return to the U.S., Dr. Raspanti completed his MPH in environmental health sciences at the University of Maryland and later stayed for the PhD program in environmental health and toxicology, where his dissertation topic focused on biological monitoring of indoor air pollution exposure from burning solid fuels in the home for cooking and heating in Nepal.
Currently, Dr. Raspanti works for the Division of Science and Research with the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection as a toxicologist. In this role, he evaluates environmental contaminants and the impact on human health through risk and exposure assessments. In addition, Dr. Raspanti is in the Navy Reserve as an environmental health officer, where he provides preventative medical expertise to the U.S. Marine Corps and Navy personnel.
