Biography

Ellen Muchnok, PT, DPT, ATP is an assistant professor of instruction in the Barnett College of Public Health’s Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Temple University. She earned her BS and DPT degrees from the University of Pittsburgh, after which she worked in a variety of clinical settings, including inpatient spinal cord injury rehabilitation and outpatient seating and mobility. She received the ATP certification through the Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology Society of North America to further enhance her skill in the provision of assistive technology. Clinically, Dr. Muchnok is passionate about improving functional outcomes for patients with a variety of neurologic, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary conditions through the use of appropriately prescribed assistive technology and individualized functional treatment. Academically, Dr. Muchnok’s teaching responsibilities allow her to work with each DPT cohort through every semester of the didactic program. She enjoys watching students grow from their very first summer semester all the way to their final fall semester on campus, and she is committed to fostering both personal and professional growth in her students throughout this journey. Outside of work, Dr. Muchnok enjoys many outdoor pursuits including fly fishing, hiking, cycling, and going adventures with her husband and her dogs.
