Sarah Bass: Invited speaker at the American Association for Cancer Research annual meeting, where she presented “If you aim at nothing, you'll hit it every time: Using segmentation and commercial marketing techniques to understand how to effectively develop health communication messages.”
Lindsay K. Cloud: Recently appointed to the faculty from Temple’s Beasley School of Law.
Bradley N. Collins: Co-authored a study published in BMJ Public Health examining the effects of combined cannabis and tobacco smoke exposure among children.
Jeanne Coviello: Received the Distinguished Educator Award at the AOTA Inspire Conference and co-presented at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association conference on collaborative approaches to addressing care access gaps tied to insurance coverage limitations.
Jeffrey Gehris: Received an Outstanding Service Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine’s Violence and Trauma Special Interest Group at the SBM Annual Meeting in Chicago.
Inkyu Han: Appointed to serve on a National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine committee focused on military exposures and neurodegenerative diseases, including evaluating links between environmental exposures and neurological health outcomes.
Sara J. Kovacs: Selected as a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine.
Amy K. Lynch: Served as a keynote speaker for the Maryland Occupational Therapy Association conference in the fall.
Bryan P. McCormick: Delivered a keynote address, “The Role for Recreation, Parks and Tourism Professions in Reducing Social Isolation and Loneliness,” at the Metcalf Summit at SUNY Cortland.
Philip McCallion: Received the Sesqui Award for Advocacy from the American Association on Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in recognition of its 150th anniversary and was named Chair of the Scientific Committee for the 2027 IASSIDD World Congress.
Melissa Murphy: Co-authored a paper published in Frontiers in Psychiatry on substance use and treatment completion among justice-involved pregnant women and presented research findings at the Anxiety and Depression Association of America annual conference on factors influencing licensed clinical social workers’ treatment decisions for depression.
Beth Pfeiffer: Recipient of the American Occupational Therapy Foundation’s Meritorious Service Award.
Ksenia Power: Elected to serve as chair of the Master’s Thesis Awards Committee for the Association for Applied Sport Psychology and co-authored publications in CommonHealth and the Journal of Issues in Intercollegiate Athletics.
Chasity Riddick: Named a 21st Century Health Education Practice Scholarship awardee by the Society for Public Health Education and appointed Director of Program Development for Eta Sigma Gamma National Office.
Alissa Smethers: Received the Keystone Award from the Pennsylvania Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics at its Annual Conference.
Monica Taylor: Selected to serve on the American College of Sports Medicine Board of Trustees as the ACCESS Trustee.
Jazmine Tooles: Presented “Wellness Meets Performance: What Students Reveal” at the Annual CAT Conference, co-presented at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association conference on policy and collaboration related to care access and insurance coverage, and presented “Crack the Code to Care: Learn the System So It Works for You” at the Career and Care Summit.
Elizabeth Van Nostrand: Co-authored a Health Affairs article, “Indiana Adults Who Participated in Treatment Court Programs Had Better Health Outcomes Than Those Who Did Not,” which was cited in a Congressional Budget Office report on federal policy approaches to address the opioid crisis.
Anne Wilkinson: Serving on the Center for the Advancement of Standards Board of Directors.
W. Geoffrey Wright: Selected to receive Temple University’s Paul W. Eberman Faculty Research Award.
Yaara Zisman-Ilani: Named a Fellow of the College of Physicians of Philadelphia.
Temple Occupational Therapy Faculty: Participated in the AOTA Inspire Conference in Anaheim, California, alongside their students. Presenters included Beth Pfeiffer, Amy K. Lynch, and Cindy Abbott-Gaffney. Abbott-Gaffney and Erica A. Pugh, along with Doctor of Occupational Therapy students from the Assistive Technology course, presented and donated assistive technology products designed by the students to Mastery Charter Middle School in Camden, New Jersey.
