The School of Social Work is an integral part of Temple´s College of Public Health. We share a home with other professions who seek healing and opportunities to bolster human capacities. All elements of the College provide a unique professional focus on a common aim of improving quality of life.
The School of Social Work fulfills its mission of building social and economic justice through teaching, research and service. Our graduates tackle issues related to HIV/AIDS, mental health, substance abuse, homelessness, juvenile justice, health services, hospice services, community capacity building, violence against women, organizational diversity, child welfare, teenage pregnancy, elder abuse, and poverty.
Whether they serve in child welfare or aging, administer agencies or are community organizers, our graduates inhabit environments where success depends on thinking critically and acting with conviction. And they are fully equipped to do that, to the benefit of their clients, the institutions for which they work, and their communities.
