Mary Sinnott, associate professor of instruction in physical therapy, will be presented with the Lucy Blair Service Award by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) at its 2016 conference.

Sinnott is the Director of the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at the College of Public Health and led program design for the College’s North Broad Physical Therapy Center, a pro-bono student-run clinic that serves uninsured and underinsured residents of North Philadelphia. With the Lucy Blair Service Award, Sinnott was recognized for her dedication and service to the profession of physical therapy.

She has been elected to two terms on the APTA Board of Directors and has twice served as the president of the APTA’s Sections on Health Policy and Administration, and Acute Care. Sinnott is also the namesake for an annual APTA award for excellence in acute care practice.
