Biography

Nancy Fawley has spent her career working in academic libraries. She held leadership positions at the University of Vermont, University of Nevada–Las Vegas, the University of Alabama, and Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar. Fawley received a BS in journalism from Boston University and an MS in library and information science from the University of Kentucky. She has published widely within the field and coedited two books on library services to students. Fawley has also chaired numerous committees in the Association of College & Research Libraries and presented at conferences nationally and internationally.

The J. Russell Fawley Scholarship for students in the Department of Nursing was named for her grandfather, a business owner in Manayunk and president of the board of Roxborough Memorial Hospital. Fawley’s great aunt, Miriam Semple, attended Temple University in the 1920s and was a member of the 1922 state champion field hockey team.
