On Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 10:00am, Temple University will host the 139th Main Commencement ceremony, where all schools and colleges are invited to celebrate your accomplishments.  Graduates in regalia do not need a ticket, and each graduate may invite up to 4 guests to attend. 

On Wednesday, May 6, 2026 at 3:00pm the Barnett College of Public Health will host our 11th graduation ceremony, where all CPH and SSW graduates are invited to walk across the stage and accept your diploma from Dean Jennifer Ibrahim.  Legacy Photographics will be taking photos of all graduates as you leave the stage.  Each graduate may invite up to 10 guests to attend.  Each graduate may pick up 2 parking passes to use for the May 6 CPH graduation ceremony.  

Updated parking information: ALL STUDENTS will receive 2 parking passes, whether attending one or both graduation ceremonies on May 6.  Please plan accordingly.

The RSVP website will be available from February 17 – March 22 with a VERY strict deadline, which will be posted when available.  Your AccessNet log-in is required to request tickets to the Main Commencement.  The same link will be used to RSVP for the CPH graduation ceremony.  If planning to attend either ceremony, the RSVP must be completed for both.

Spring 2026 graduates:

• If you plan to complete your graduation requirements during the Spring 2026 semester, we kindly ask that you complete your graduation application at your earliest convenience.  The deadline to apply was Monday, February 2, but we want to give our CPH graduate students every opportunity to attend the upcoming graduation ceremonies.  If you have any questions regarding your graduation status, please contact your academic advisor.    

Summer 2026 graduates:

• If you plan to complete your graduation requirements during the Summer 2026 semester, and you would like to participate in the Spring 2026 graduation ceremonies, we ask that you submit a petition-to-walk at your earliest convenience.  Please do NOT submit a graduation application until your final semester.  The deadline to submit a petition was also Monday, February 2, but we are extending this deadline to accommodate as many graduate students as possible.

*Summer 2026 grads are automatically included and invited to attend the following Spring graduation ceremonies (May 2027).  We understand that many graduates move away or have occupational responsibilities after graduation, and waiting until May 2027 may not be feasible for all.  Submitting a petition-to-walk allows you to celebrate with your friends and family prior to completing your graduation requirements, however, your degree will not be conferred until all requirements are met and an application is submitted/approved for that semester.  Please review all information in the petition-to-walk form and reach out to your academic advisor with any questions regarding your status. 

If you plan to complete your graduation requirements during the Summer 2026 semester, but you would like to wait and participate in the May 2027 graduation ceremonies, no action is needed at this time.

Summer or Fall 2025 graduates:

• No action is needed at this time.  All Summer 2025 & Fall 2025 graduates will be sent an email on February 5 from gradcph@temple.edu with important information regarding graduation. If you do not receive this email (check your junk/spam folders), please submit an inquiry

If you marked “yes” for accommodations for yourself or a guest, please complete this survey to provide additional information, to include # of guests using wheelchairs, # of guests using walkers, # of guests with limited mobility (a couple steps are ok), etc.  

• Each request will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. If we have any additional questions, you will receive an email from gradcph@temple.edu.
• For all approved requests, the graduate will receive a printout indicating a designated, reserved seating area for their guests when picking up graduation tickets and parking passes in April. Please provide this printout to your guests and ask them to take a photo of it in case it is misplaced.
• Liacouras Center staff will be available to assist guests in locating their reserved seats.
• Graduates who require accommodations will be contacted directly by gradcph@temple.edu with additional details.

On-site wheelchairs are not available. Guests with difficulty walking are encouraged to bring their own wheelchair or mobility device.  

ASL interpreters will be available at all ceremonies.  For the CPH graduation ceremony, they will be standing in the front left corner of the stage (facing the stage).  There is a reserved seating area for any guests in need of ASL interpreting services. The interpreter will also be shown on the jumbotron in the Liacouras Center. 

The ceremony will be open-captioned and displayed on the jumbotron in the Liacouras Center.

The deadline to take senior portraits for the yearbook has passed.

Yearbooks will be offered to all UNDERGRAD graduates, available for pickup during the scheduled ticket pickup window. 

Any yearbooks that have not been distributed during ticket pickup will be available to ALL graduates in the Liacouras loading dock for pickup on Graduation Day! 

As a Temple graduate, you are required to wear your school/college's approved cap, gown, hood and tassel at Commencement and graduation.

The ship-to-store deadline for in-store pickup is March 15 and the ship-to-home deadline is April 10.

Bachelor’s degree candidates should wear their mortarboard, so it sits parallel with the ground, with the tassel hanging to the right. Graduates are permitted to decorate their mortarboards in a celebratory fashion.  We do ask that you ensure your design is tasteful and not too distracting.  Other hats in place of a graduation cap, other than religious head coverings, are not allowed.

Master’s and doctoral candidates should wear caps with tassels attached to the left.

Commencement regalia does not have to be returned after the ceremonies. It can be kept as a keepsake or responsibly recycled.  

Graduates who have met academic criteria are eligible to wear gold cords representative of Latin Honors. If you have not picked up your cords, please reach out to your school or college to arrange pickup.

Latin Honors are an indication of high academic achievement and are awarded at graduation based on estimation procedures that are intended to yield 2% Summa Cum Laude ("with highest distinction"), 5% Magna Cum Laude ("with great distinction"), and 9% Cum Laude ("with distinction”) awards for baccalaureate recipients from each Temple University school and college.

Graduates who have completed at least 60 credits at Temple are eligible for the appropriate honor if their cumulative grade point average (CGPA) is equal to or greater than the cut-off value established for the honor. Students returning to the University following Academic Forgiveness may qualify for Latin Honors if they have a minimum of 60 earned hours in addition to the approved earned hours allowed at the time of Academic Forgiveness.

As a reminder, we do NOT have a rehearsal for either the Main Commencement ceremony or the CPH graduation ceremony.  Please pay attention to the information provided via email updates and at ticket pick-up.

*TU Commencement Ceremony: All day-of instructions for the Main Commencement Ceremony will be received via email.  BCPH does not run the Main Commencement Ceremony.  If you have any questions, please reach out to

CPH graduation ceremony: Day-of instructions will be issued along with your tickets and parking passes in April. Students will also receive an email during the week of graduation including the same information as well as any last-minute updates.

• Traffic around campus will increase significantly, so kindly remind your guests to allow ample time to arrive at the facility, park, and pass through security.
• The Liacouras loading dock will open for graduates at 1:00pm and the arena will open to guests at 1:30pm.  
• We ask that all graduates report to the Liacouras Loading Dock NO LATER THAN 1:30pm.  Graduates should be dressed for the ceremony in gown, hood, cap and tassel.  
• Graduation marshals will start leading students into the Arena at 2:45pm and the ceremony will begin promptly at 3:00pm.
• We expect the ceremony to last approximately 2 hours.  We ask that all graduates and guests remain seated until conferral of all degrees is complete.  
• For any students or guests who may need accessible seating arrangements, please submit an inquiry and include any necessary information.  
• We strongly encourage you and your families to review the “Ceremony Information for Graduates and Guests” on the Commencement website. There, you’ll find FAQs on parking, security, regalia and what items you can or cannot bring to the ceremonies.

The Liacouras Center and all ceremony venues will not check or store any of the above prohibited items nor any other personal items that have been brought to the arena.

Note: Collapsible and foldable umbrellas with a flat top are permitted into the arena; long classical and straight umbrellas with pointed tips are prohibited. Strollers are also not permitted into the seating area of the arena; they can be checked into guest services at the Liacouras Center.

Exceptions are made for medical and religious purposes, after proper inspection.

• Large bags and backpacks are not permitted and a clear bag policy will be in effect.  
• Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags that do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12" (a logo can be displayed on one side of a permissible clear bag) 
• One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) 
• Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" (approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap) and belt bags, no bigger than a clutch, are permitted

* Students with an approved Petition-to-Walk will not be listed in the May 2026 CPH Graduation Program.  These students are invited to participate in the May 2026 ceremonies, however, their names will be included in the May 2027 program, as all Summer 2026 and Fall 2026 grads are scheduled to graduate during the May 2027 ceremonies.

This is offered for only Summer/Fall 2025 graduates, or online/remote students who do not live in the Philadelphia area. 

All other students are required to pick up their tickets in person during the scheduled ticket pick-up window from April 20-24, Paley Hall, 5th Floor.  If unable to pick up your tickets during the scheduled time, a friend or family member may pick them up for you with a photo of your student ID.  

All requests must be submitted prior to April 20 to ensure you receive these items prior to graduation. *All tickets will be mailed on April 20* If you submit a request early, please understand that ALL requests will be processed/mailed no earlier than April 20 as the Main Commencement tickets will not be in hand prior to this date.
