Biography

Dr. Gina Tripicchio is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at the College of Public Health and a research scientist at the Center for Obesity Research and Education. She holds a degree in Psychology from New York University (BA, 2007), a graduate degree in Science Education from the City College of New York (MSEd, 2010), and graduate degrees in Nutrition from Hunter College (MS, 2012) and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (PhD, 2017). Prior to joining the faculty at Temple, Dr. Tripicchio was a researcher at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention.

Dr. Tripicchio’s research focuses on behavioral interventions to address childhood obesity. She is interested in treatment and prevention strategies, with a particular emphasis on innovative approaches to delivery and evaluation. Her work aims to address health disparities that affect underserved children by implementing programs in settings that can dismantle those inequities, including the education, health, and food systems.
