Krista Schroeder, PhD, RN is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at the Temple University College of Public Health. She received her BSN at Bloomsburg University and her PhD in Nursing at Columbia University. During her time at Columbia University, she completed a Pre-doctoral Fellowship in the Center for Health Policy and an internship in the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Health Research Training Program. Following the awarding of her PhD, Dr. Schroeder completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research on Vulnerable Women, Children and Families at University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and an Associate Fellowship at the Penn Center for Public Health Initiatives.
Dr. Schroeder’s research focuses on school and community-based childhood obesity interventions, with a focus on advancing health equity and reducing obesity disparities. She has a particular interest in nurse-led obesity interventions. Prior to her career as a nurse scientist, Dr. Schroeder worked as a critical care nurse in New York City and Philadelphia hospitals, which inspired her interest in chronic disease prevention and informs her passion for her research.
