Krista Schroeder, PhD, RN is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Nursing at Temple University's College of Public Health. She received her BSN at Bloomsburg University and her PhD in Nursing at Columbia University. During her time at Columbia University, she completed a Pre-doctoral Fellowship in the Center for Health Policy and an internship in the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Health Research Training Program. Following award of her PhD, Dr. Schroeder completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship for Research on Vulnerable Women, Children, and Families at University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and an Associate Fellowship at the Penn Center for Public Health Initiatives.
Dr. Schroeder’s research examines how social determinants of health influence obesity risk. Her methodological expertise includes large data set analysis, community engaged research, and quantitative and statistical approaches for program and policy evaluation. Prior to her career as a nurse scientist, Dr. Schroeder worked as a critical care nurse in New York City and Philadelphia hospitals, which inspired her interest in chronic disease prevention and informs her passion for her research.
