Do you aspire to become a certified athletic trainer? Our MS in Athletic Training prepares students to evaluate research literature and make evidence-based decisions. The program includes a special emphasis on concussion and mild traumatic brain injury education. Every student in the program will have clinical experience at the Division I level.

Coursework integrates cultural competency and professionalism in global healthcare delivery. Students also learn to collaborate effectively with interprofessional healthcare teams, patients and athletic program administrators.

You can complete this 53-credit program—which balances classroom learning and extensive clinical experiences—in two years of full-time study. All courses are conducted at Temple’s Main Campus.

Our graduates are employed in a wide range of athletic training environments, including professional, college and high school sports; sports medicine and physical therapy clinics; and nontraditional settings in which employees are conducting physical activity and are at risk of movement-related injury.

MSAT student Lyn Meyerhoff talks about her experience serving as an athletic trainer with the Temple women's basketball team as part of her fieldwork for the program.

If you are already an athletic trainer and are looking for an advanced degree, see the MS in Kinesiology with a concentration in athletic training (for aspiring researchers) or the Doctor of Athletic Training.
