Mary Ward-Bucher joined the College of Public Health as an academic advisor in March 2016. Before joining CPH, she taught in the College of Liberal Arts and served in a variety of administrative and teaching roles at other universities in the Philadelphia area. Mary believes that effective advising is a student-led partnership in which students learn how to be self-directed, resourceful, and reflective about their educational experiences. A central PA native, Mary has lived in Philadelphia with her family since 1999 and has led several neighborhood advocacy and beautification projects, including work with The Neighborhood Gardens Trust and the Mennonite Central Committee. Mary received her MA in Religion from Temple University and her BS from the University of Valley Forge.
