Temple’s Recreational Therapy major prepares you to become a recreational therapist—a clinical professional who uses a variety of techniques such as adapted sports, expressive arts and life skills to treat and maintain the emotional, mental and physical well-being of people with disabilities or limitations.
A five-year undergraduate/graduate accelerated program is also offered, giving qualifying undergraduate recreational therapy students the opportunity to take graduate level courses within their undergraduate curriculum. Students may apply for admission to the accelerated program at the beginning of their junior year.
The BS in Recreational Therapy program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs/Committee on Accreditation of Recreational Therapy Education.
