Liz Thompson is an assistant professor of instruction in the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She received her BS in Sport Science, Psychology, and Music Performance from the University of Richmond, and her MPT from MCP-Hahnemann University (now Drexel University). While in clinical practice, she earned her tDPT from Temple University. Dr .Thompson is credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association as a Clinical Instructor, and by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist.
Dr. Thompson's research interests include balance during standing and walking in people with neuromuscular conditions, including cerebral palsy and Parkinson's disease. Her teaching responsibilities and include critical inquiry and evidence-based practice, modalities and electrophysiology, management of neurological/neuromuscular injury, prosthetics and orthotics, motor control and learning, and outcome measurement.
