Elizabeth Chmielewski-Yee joined the Temple University College of Public Health in August 2018. She completed a PhD in Global Disease Epidemiology and Control and a MPH with a concentration in Epidemiological and Biostatistical Methods for Public Health and Clinical Research from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her thesis research focused on effects and costs of meningococcal disease outbreaks. She spent seven years involved in research related to vaccines and vaccine preventable diseases. She completed an internship with the World Health Organization, working to support the Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization and also spent two years working for a relief and development organization in India.
