In Memory of Adele Gerber

Adele Gerber. Professor Emerita

Adele Gerber, a professor emerita in the Communications Sciences Department, passed away on Monday, March 4th.  She served as a faculty member for 18 years.

Adele was renowned for her teaching, mentoring, and program development which continued to impact former students and faculty following her retirement.  Her memory and legacy carry on with the honoring of the Adele Gerber Award, now in its 26th year, which is presented annually to the graduate student in the MA program in speech/language pathology who “embodies the academic rigor, clinical prowess and generous spirit of Adele Gerber.”

Adele authored several highly regarded texts and was dedicated to numerous volunteer efforts.  She was honored with the national Points of Light Award for outstanding service to others in 2000.

In lieu of flowers, Adele’s family kindly asks for your contribution towards the continuity of the Adele Gerber Award in the Communication Sciences and Disorders Department at Temple (Address below) or .the RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Program) of Montgomery County.
