Nursing Department Receives Top Marks in 2013 Board Testing

The 2013 NCLEX-RN Licensure results are in, and Temple’s BSN program is top of the class. With a pass rate of 94%  Temple’s BSN program eclipsed the state-wide average of 86% and national average of 84%. The stellar pass rate also ranks in the top 5 in Pennsylvania and 2nd in the Philadelphia metro-area.

Adding to the feat is the fact that the testing standards were recently raised by the National Counsel of State Boards of Nursing. “This is a testament to our dedicated faculty and staff as well as the hard work of our high-achieving students”, said Dr. Rhonda Maneval, Associate Chair of the Nursing department. “The State Board’s standard were higher this year, but our students really came through with flying colors.”

This year’s rates continues the department’s high-level of excellence in the exam, last year the department boasted a 96% rate, again one of the highest in the state.
