YEP filmmakers featured at documentary festival

Aspiring filmmakers from the Youth Employment Project (YEP) at Temple University's Center for Social Policy and Community Development had their film featured at Silverdocs, the AFI-Discovery Channel’s 10th annual Documentary Festival.

The week-long festival in Silver Springs, Maryland hosts filmmakers from more than 60 countries. YEP’s documentary, "Life: How to Come Up?", includes viewpoints of urban youth, information about programs, and highlights from interviews with CPH Dean Michael Sitler, CSPCD Director Shirley Moy, and CSPCD Workforce Development Associate Director Michael Clemmons.

Funded by the Philadelphia Youth Network, YEP's goal is to provide education and career development services to Philadelphia's out-of-school youth, ages 17-21. Career and educational counseling and academic support available to participants includes workshops, literacy training, job readiness, career exploration events, college/vocational school tours, internship opportunities, job shadowing and career-based mentoring.

If you are interested in viewing “Life: How to Come Up?” please contact CSPCD at 215-204-7491 for a copy of the DVD.
