Time Out receives awards from three charitable organizations

For 26 years, the Time Out Respite Program at Temple University’s Intergenerational Center has been mobilizing college students to reduce caregiver stress, reduce the isolation of their frail elderly relatives, and increase their ability to remain living at home.

In December 2011, the Phillies Charities, Inc., the charitable arm of the Phillies, selected the Time Out Respite Program to receive a $10,000 donation in recognition of its "overall dedication to making a positive impact on our local community". Time Out has been selected as a Program of Distinction for 2012-2014 by Generations United, a coalition of more than 100 national organizations, in recognition of its excellence and its rich diversity among intergenerational programs. The Pew Charitable Trusts has just awarded the program a 3 year continuation grant for $184,000 for the period April 2012 through March 2015.  The grant will support Time Out Respite Program's ability to continue to meet Philadelphia's growing need for low-cost consumer driven in-home respite care.
