Presentation and Publications

Joon Park, PhD, Director of the Cardiovascular Genomics Laboratory and professor in the Department of Kinesiology, was recently published in the New England Journal of Medicine. His paper, titled "Increased Oxidative Metabolism in the Li–Fraumeni Syndrome," was written in collaboration with a team of researchers and health professionals; the study was funded by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute and the National Institutes of Health.

The New England Journal of Medicine is one of the top five journals in the field of science, with the highest impact factor of any journal of clinical medicine. It has been publishing landmark research since 1812 and accepts less than 5% of its 5000 submissions each year.

This conference is one of most prestigious scientific meetings in mitochondrial biology. Ms. Kim will be presenting her abstract, titled "Inhibition of Drp1-dependent mitochondrial division delays myogenic differentiation," during the poster session, and her study will be also featured during the conference.
