Center for Asian Health director recognized for community based research

Grace Xueqin Ma, Ph.D., founder and director of Temple’s Center for Asian Health, has been recognized by a team of national leaders in the field of Community Based Participatory Research. CBPR is a collaborative approach that combines participant involvement with traditional research strategies to develop a greater understanding of community health issues and practices. Dr. Ma was cited as the only researcher (Principal Investigator) in the country to have four CBPR projects funded by the National Institute of Health in 2009.
