Alexandra Canori's primary career goal is to conduct independent research with applications in motor control with a focus on sensorimotor spinal cord pathways. Her academic training developed her background knowledge in neuromotor control and neurologic dysfunction. As a research assistant in the Personal Health Informatics and Rehabilitation Engineering (PHIRE) Lab, she assists with data collection, analysis, clinical interpretation and manuscript preparation for projects relating to physical activity monitoring systems in individuals with SCI.
Alexandra's intended research relates to the relationship between chronic pain mechanisms and physical activity. This project will facilitate the development of her foundational research skills and her growth as an investigator so that she may become a successful contributor to the field of neuromotor science.
