Yajnaseni Chakraborti is a first-year doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She holds a BS triple major in computer science, mathematics and statistics from Christ University (India) and an MS in biostatistics from Manipal University (India). After receiving her MS, she joined Novartis Pharmaceuticals as a biostatistician in early phase oncology clinical trials. She cultivated a keen interest in cancer epidemiology while working in clinical drug development which motivated her to pursue her doctoral studies in the field of epidemiology.
Her current research focus is to 1) evaluate statistical methods for mediation analysis of intensive longitudinal data, such as that collected from ecological momentary assessments and 2) develop causal models to inform policy towards an improved diagnosis of endometrial cancer in asymptomatic women.
Chakraborti is working with Assistant Professor Donna Coffman on different projects in the field of social and behavioral sciences.
