Donna Weiss
Biography
Donna Weiss, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA is an author, consultant, trainer and coach in the areas of interpersonal communication, group dynamics and leadership. Dr. Weiss works with academic programs and health organizations in interprofessional curriculum development and team building. Her clients include university programs, health systems and other organizations that provide healthcare and healthcare training. Dr. Weiss helps her clients use positive communication to engage imaginations, broaden possibilities, and empower action for personal, professional and organizational sustainability and growth.
Dr. Weiss is emeritus faculty in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, College of Public Health, at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA, where she also served as associate dean for academic and student affairs from 1998-2008. She is an associate with GroupWorks Global and a project advisor for the Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER) in Philadelphia, PA. She is a licensed occupational therapist, a fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association and is certified as a coach/consultant in Appreciative Inquiry and Whole System IQ™.
Dr. Weiss has been active in professional organizations at the state and national levels, served as a pediatric clinician, a consultant to school systems and state departments of education, a health professions educator, author and a university administrator. She has created and taught both traditional and on-line courses in pediatric intervention, group dynamics, leadership, clinical education and fieldwork supervision and outcomes measurement.
Her book, The Interprofessional Health Care Team: Leadership and Development, has consistently been ranked in Amazon’s top 100 healthcare administration books.
