Aurora is a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist with extensive experience in geriatric care and administration. She has experience working in Life Care Communities that include skilled nursing, short-term rehabilitation, personal care, memory support and independent living, as well as stand-alone personal care, memory support and skilled nursing facilities. In addition to her work in therapeutic recreation, Aurora is also certified as a Personal Care Home Administrator in the state of Pennsylvania and has served as administrator for a personal care home in the Philadelphia suburbs. Prior to becoming full-time faculty at Temple, Aurora served as adjunct faculty in the recreational therapy program.
Aurora is highly committed to service in the field of therapeutic recreation. She currently serves as Member at Large for Grants for the Recreational Therapy Foundation. She is a prior board member for the New Jersey/Eastern Pennsylvania Therapeutic Recreation Association, as well as a former member of the Peg Connolly Scholarship Selection Committee and Temple University Therapeutic Recreation Program Advisory Committee.
