C-PREP is an interdisciplinary research center created to develop nationally relevant policies, programs and practices that will enhance emergency preparedness, response and recovery.

C-PREP conducts applied research and works with local and state stakeholders to further develop the Commonwealth’s emergency planning and response mechanisms.
Training activities include personal & family preparedness; business continuity planning for non-profit agencies; emergency management of special populations; risk communication; cultural competency and preparedness; disaster mental health and psychological first aid training
Research areas include perceptual mapping studies, population-based surveys on knowledge and concerns regarding emergencies, and the development of systems for mapping GIS data to assist emergency planning and response
